Beyond the Canvas: The Evolution of Deon Simone

How a love for painting grew into something much bigger.

I started my journey as an artist through painting. What began as a passion for bringing ideas to life on canvas and walls has gradually grown into an exploration of different creative forms.

Over the years, I've found myself drawn to more than just painting. I've become interested in how art can exist in different spaces and take on different forms, from murals and installations to objects, fashion and wearable art.

I've always been curious about what else is possible. How can an idea move beyond a canvas? How can art become something people interact with, live with or even wear?

That curiosity has pushed me to experiment, take on new challenges and explore areas I might not have considered before.

Beyond What I Know

For me, creativity has never really been about staying within one lane. I enjoy the freedom of exploring different materials, learning new processes and finding ways to bring ideas to life.

Some projects take me back to painting, while others introduce me to entirely new ways of creating. Each experience adds something to the journey.

Deon Simone has grown alongside that journey. What started as my personal artistic practice is becoming a space where art, design and different forms of expression can come together.

I'm still exploring, still learning and still figuring out what's possible.

And that's what makes the journey exciting.

The canvas was just the beginning.
